    1. GEORGE MYERS

      George Myers

      President AIA, NCARB

      George founded GTM Architects in 1989 with a commitment to hands-on client involvement, creative problem solving and a collaborative approach. This has allowed GTM to grow and diversify in a wide array of industry sectors; including commercial, corporate, single and multi-family residential, healthcare, hospitality, retail, historic, recreational and educational design.

      George received his Master of Architecture, Magna Cum Laude from University of Maryland in 1986 and was awarded the ACC Scholar/Athlete of the Year in 1985. He is a registered architect in numerous states and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.

      George has received numerous prestigious awards for outstanding achievement and excellence. His work has been published in magazines such as the Washingtonian, Better Homes and Gardens, Home & Design, Custom Home, BUILDER and Multi-Housing News.

    2. JIM MYERS

      Jim Myers

      Managing Princial

      James received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Accounting, Cum Laude from University of Maryland in 1990. He is a licensed CPA in Maryland, and passed all four parts on first attempt in May 1990. He joined GTM as VP and Managing Principal in 1995. In addition, James serves as Adjunct Professor in the Project Management Masters Program, School of Engineering at University of Maryland.

      James combines roles as VP and Managing Principal of GTM, and is responsible for all of the financial and administrative functions of the firm as well as that of the firm’s residential development ventures.

    3. RICK CONRATH

      Rick Conrath

      NCARB

      Rick Conrath is a principal at GTM Architects, having joined the firm in 1991. He received his Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and Bachelor of Architecture (5 year degree) from the University of Houston. He is a registered architect in many states and is NCARB certified.

      As principal, Rick is in charge of a number of commercial, retail, restaurant and mixed-use projects. His most current work includes Planned-Unit Developments, Mixed-Use developments and Master Planning, seen in such projects as Union Place, and the Velocity Condominiums in Washington DC. He has received numerous awards for outstanding achievement and excellence in the field of architecture from both AIA and NAIOP.

      Rick remains active in his community through his involvement in coaching youth sports, and his appointment to the Loudoun County Design Cabinet run by the office of Economic Development in Loudoun County, Virginia.

    4. BARBARA MAGISTRO

      Barbara Magistro

      ASID, IIDA

      Barbara Magistro joined GTM in 2001 with 25 years of commercial design experience. As a Principal, she is responsible for Business Development and heads the Interior Design studio. As a result, GTM has placed in the Washington Business Journal’s Book of Lists’, Top Interior Design Firms for the past 2 years.

      Barbara received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a specialty in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She was awarded three Certificates of Recognition for Leadership and Service and went on to serve as an adjunct faculty member. She serves on the Design Leadership Council of Washington, DC. In addition to awards that Barbara has received for her design work, she was voted Queen of the 2008 Builders Ball.

    1. DAVID KONAPELSKY

      David Konapelsky

      AIA

      David has over 25 years of professional experience in both residential and commercial architecture, and has been a partner with GTM since 2000. He has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree, and a Master of Architecture degree from The Catholic University of America, in Washington DC. He maintains architectural registrations in Pennsylvania, and Virginia. David is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Sports Builders Association, and has participated in the United States Tennis Association’s facility design forum.

      David leads the design studios for a variety of building types including: educational, commercial, retail, sports facilities, and residential projects. He has been a visiting design critic for Catholic University’s School of Architecture, has served on the building committee for Holy Redeemer Parish, in Kensington, MD, and has provided pro-bono services for Aunt Hattie’s foster home, in Sandy Spring, MD.

    2. DICK BLESSING

      Dick Blessing

      AIA

      Dick brings nearly 40 years of professional practice to GTM Architects. After serving in the US Army from 1968 to 1970, Dick received his degree in architecture from Louisiana State University in 1974, and has been a registered architect in Maryland since 1977. His experience includes running his own residential design/build business. He has also provided construction contract administration for scores of commercial, residential, multi-use and institutional projects in the Washington, DC region.

      Among his projects are Chevy Chase Pavilion, a retail/hotel/office project in Friendship Heights; the Louis Stokes Laboratory (Building 50) on the NIH campus in Bethesda; and commercial office towers at 1001 19th Street in Rosslyn; and the 200 unit Velocity Condominiums in SE Washington.

      Dick is highly skilled in the coordination of architectural and engineering disciplines, enabling GTM Architects to produce an integrated, comprehensive and constructible set of design documents.

    3. STEVE MULHOLLAND

      Steve Mulholland

      AIA, LEED-AP

      Steve has been with GTM since 2003, providing over 20 years of experience in renovation, restoration and new construction projects for governmental, institutional, and private clients. He is a registered architect in the District of Columbia, a member of the American Institute of Architects and a LEED Accredited Professional by the US Green Building Council.

      Steve has been responsible for establishing Document Production Guidelines and implementing new technologies for the firms more complicated projects. He is highly skilled in the management and coordination of architectural and engineering disciplines providing the leadership needed to create a comprehensive, integrated and technically accurate set of construction documents.
